EFF ECHO Programs for Endocrine Fellows
Monthly Online Meetings
The EFF ECHO Programs for Endocrine Fellows are a collaboration between EFF and Project ECHO which offers a monthly virtual learning platform for fellows who are interested in expanding their learning. They are designed for all Endocrinology fellows, young investigators, and early career physicians. Our ECHO programs offer fellows a community to expand their professional network with peers who have similar interests, as well as with leaders in the field. Session content evolves based on fellow case discussions and topic requests.
EFF ECHO Programs Format
Our ECHO programs are 1 hour and consist of two important components, a 15-20 minute didactic lecture with Q&A on a relevant topic delivered by a subject matter expert. Fellows, young investigators, and early career physicians are encouraged to share a case to receive feedback and treatment suggestions from their peers and program faculty.
Session recordings are available via the iECHO platform.
To join and retain access to the EFF ECHOs participants must:
- Register for the iECHO platform.
- Complete the EFF supplemental registration form to be approved to access the EFF ECHOs.
- Complete the series of outcome metrics questionnaires, pre/post each session and the annual learning retention survey (must be logged into iECHO to complete these questionnaires).

Project ECHO / Bone Health ECHO Background
- The first Bone Health ECHO was started by Dr. Michel Lewiecki in 2015, patterning this program after the inaugural ECHO 'all teach, all learn' template that had been started for Hepatitis C training. The idea of an ECHO program is to disseminate state-of-the-art knowledge through a series of regular, virtual meetings, which consists of short presentations on a topic of interest followed by discussion, and case presentations followed by more discussion.
